Navigating New York City’s school admissions landscape can feel complex, particularly for families going through the process for the first time. You do not have to figure it out on your own.
Throughout the admissions process, our Head of School is available to answer questions, offer thoughtful recommendations, and help families evaluate their options with greater clarity and confidence.
We also maintain relationships with admissions teams at ongoing schools and communicate with them when appropriate, helping support each child and family throughout the transition.
Personalized Family Meetings
In the spring before the fall application season, our Head of School begins meeting individually with every exmitting family. These conversations provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s growth and strengths, your family’s educational priorities, and the schools you are considering for your initial list.
The process is collaborative and highly individualized. There is no one-size-fits-all admissions strategy because there is no one-size-fits-all child or family.
Once applications begin in the fall, our Head of School continues to meet with families throughout the process to review application progress, discuss school choices, consider feedback from both families and ongoing schools, and help navigate decisions as they arise.
Your Exmissions Portal
Families whose children are entering their final Primary year receive access to our dedicated Exmissions Portal.
This centralized resource brings together admissions timelines, school information, planning tools, important dates, and practical guidance, giving families an organized place to manage the many moving pieces of the ongoing school process.
Every Journey Looks Different
There is no single definition of the “right” next school.
Some children flourish in independent schools. Others thrive in public schools, specialized programs, or other educational environments. Our role is not to steer every family toward the same destination. It is to help you identify the environment in which your child can continue to grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy—and a community in which your family feels genuinely aligned.
Graduation may mark the end of your child’s time at The Montessori Schools, but it also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
