Position Status: Staff, Full-Time (Year-Round)
Salary Range: $67,500 – $72,500
About the Role
The Montessori Schools are seeking a warm, organized, and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Admissions to support the admissions, enrollment, and re-enrollment processes for prospective, new, and current families. This is a full-time, year-round role requiring occasional evening and weekend hours. The position is split between our two New York City campuses in Flatiron and SoHo.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and passionate about early childhood education. They will serve as a key ambassador of our school, helping families navigate the admissions journey with care, clarity, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Assistant Head of School – Admissions and Enrollment to implement and refine an admissions strategy that reflects the mission and values of The Montessori Schools

Plan and support admissions and community events, including open houses, tours, and welcome programs

Provide warm and responsive communication to families from inquiry to enrollment

Schedule and manage interviews and visits using the TADS admissions system

Maintain accurate records and generate regular admissions reports

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and marketing initiatives

Represent the school at local events, recruitment fairs, and with feeder programs

Support the achievement of enrollment goals, while fostering long-term family engagement and retention

Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
-
Minimum two years of administrative experience, preferably in a school setting

Familiarity with early childhood education (ages 18 months–5 years) strongly preferred

Previous experience with NYC independent school admissions is a plus
-
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Self-motivated, collaborative, and dependable

Enthusiasm for Montessori philosophy and ability to communicate it to prospective families
