Our Parents Association
A community that shows up.
At The Montessori Schools, family involvement doesn't end at drop-off. Our Parents Association brings together families from both the Flatiron and SoHo campuses to build the warmth, connection and shared purpose that define our community.
Our Parents Association (PA) plans the traditions our children look forward to all year, creates opportunities for parents to meet and get to know one another, celebrates our faculty and staff, honors the many cultures represented in our classrooms, and raises the funds that support the school's programs and people. Every role is filled by a volunteer parent, and every family is welcome.
Whether you can chair a committee or lend a hand for a single afternoon, there's a place for you!

Class Parents
Class Parents
Class Parents act as liaison between the Parents Association and your child’s classroom Guide. They organize staff appreciation gestures on behalf of families, prepare craft activities for children to enjoy during our in-school family celebrations, and coordinate social gatherings for children and families to get together outside of school.
Social Gatherings
Social Gatherings
Our PA organizes gatherings for parents and families throughout the year, including cocktail parties, cooking workshops, workout classes, and more. They also plan a monthly Coffee and Connections event for each campus for parents who want to meet up after drop-off.
DE&I
DE&I
Our PA leads events and creative programs that celebrate the diverse cultural backgrounds of our families. This includes cross-campus recipe collections, cooking classes, and citywide outings. Our community is encouraged to learn more about different cultural celebrations happening throughout the year through monthly emails that include children's book recommendations so families can learn and grow together.

Our PA creates opportunities for our families to volunteer as we set an example for our children about the importance of giving back. Our Indoor Shoe Swap supports our immediate school community, and our focus broadens to the greater local community with the Holiday Wishes and Spring Cleaning donation drives.

Each year, Our PA compiles a directory of parent owned small businesses. This gives our parents an easy resource for supporting our school community.
Book Buddies
Book Buddies
One of our most beloved annual traditions, Book Buddies pairs children across classrooms as reading buddies, giving them the opportunity to swap and share their favorite books with other children.
Staff Appreciation
Staff Appreciation
Our PA coordinates gestures large and small throughout the school year to thank the Guides and other staff who care for our children each day.
Philanthropy
Philanthropy
Members of our community can partner with the school to encourage family participation in annual giving, and lead outreach for Giving Tuesday, our Spring Benefit, and other fundraising events. Inspired by the Montessori pedagogy, we bring grace and courtesy into our gratitude by sending acknowledgement letters for every philanthropic gift made to the school.
